 The newly introduced Mercedes C-Class got a real hybrid version. The predecessor of the current C-Class was already part of hybridization attempts but the range of only 30 km did not meet expectations. That will change now. For current plug-in versions, Mercedes-Benz promises a range of 100 km so that most passenger routes can be covered without emissions.


  To achieve this value, a 95 kW electric motor and a 25.4 kWh lithium-ion battery were called for assistance. This combination is paired with four-cylinder engines, one petrol and one diesel, with 204 and 200 hp. 

  Diesel will appear a little later after the petrol engine. Two body versions are planned, sedans and wagons, as well as rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive versions. A fully electric C-Class is currently not planned. The battery for the connected hybrids is produced in Kamenz and consists of 96 cells. 

  Thermal control also allows the battery to be quickly charged on a charger up to 55 kW in a maximum charging time of 30 minutes. All elements of conventionally powered C-Class equipment, such as MBUX, intelligent digital light, 2.5-degree rear axle steering and various assistance systems are standard or available in plug-in versions.
